This post is about honesty in astrology.

What has always been very important to me is to be honest with others on my blog and during consultations. When I started studying astrology, I didn’t want anyone to know. I was studying to understand myself better and find out why my life is different from life of my friends.

Astrology was a sacred activity for me and it still is today. I found so much truth about myself in books of famous foreign astrologers. People who did not know me testified about my suffering, pain, disappointments. Is it possible that book authors know me better than my family?

Astrology was a comfort, like a soft pillow for a life that didn’t turn out the way I imagined. However, many books were full of negativity and scary warnings. Will I survive all this?

My truth

At that time I was into with linguistics and one day, out of the blue, I decided to do an astrological research. All this is logical for someone who has Mercury in Aquarius sextile Uranus.

I sorted through numerous astrology books and decided to see how much truth there is in all of it. Something in me had to decide whether I would go out in front of people with knowledge that had accumulated until then or astrology would remain a secret activity, for my eyes only.

My idea was to compare key words used for particular astrological symbol, planet, house and aspect. If different authors describe the same thing with the same words, there must be something in it and it can be learned.

Unfortunately, no matter how much you learn astrology, you always feel like you don’t know enough. This feeling is sometimes devastating and requires a lot of energy because I have to prove myself in every consultation. It has nothing to do with me, because I don’t have to prove myself. I have to prove authenticity of astrology. Ah, too great a task for a human being!

Linguistics vs. clairvoyance

Like most people, I thought astrologers were born with special abilities. It’s funny when I remember “astrologers” who were telling me that astrology cannot be learned. That especially I can’t learn her. That I’m not made for that.

When I asked these “experts” about books they could recommend, so I could learn more about my natal aspects, they looked at me blankly. They haven’t even heard of well-known authors of astrological literature. To some who had been working as astrologers for over thirty years, I gifted astrology textbooks. I think they were in shock because they didn’t know that such a thing even existed. Wait, WHAT? You could learn astrology?!

I have to say this

At that time it became clear to me that real astrologers, not defined by certificate or course diploma, develop linguistic skills. I was lucky to meet astrologers who guided me, showed me and supported my enthusiasm in search for astrological truth. I thank them for that. Some of them are now in their late years and no longer do astrology, but we have remained friends.

However, as someone who primarily learned astrology independently through books written in English, I noticed that when I talk about the same natal symbol in Serbian, different words come to mind. To this day, I find it very interesting when consultation is in English, because its dynamic is completely different from those in Serbian.

This has to do with brain pathways and parts of brain hemispheres as well as with word connotation. It is interesting that research I conducted myself showed that “astrologer does not see”, but knows how to transform symbols into words by learning astrological alphabet.

These letters are archetypal and transcend collective unconscious or positions mapped out in the Universe. And so I embarked on path completely unknown to find the right words for what represents someone’s natal symbol, always alive and endless, during each analysis. What was considered astrology in my country and surrounding countries became meaningless to me. I admit that I almost gave up then. Fortunately, I have strong Saturn and powerful ascendant ruler.

Astrodetoks

My clients often tell me when they first come to me that they have worked with other astrologers and that I am different. I am a linguist, fascinated by words and their energy that I feel deeply. I am a “story teller”, who witnesses and experiences symbols through synesthesia.

When I decided that I would do astrology professionally, concept of natal chart analysis emerged, which I titled “Astrodetoks”. This system was downloaded to me in a dream after many years of studying astrology daily. Those were the nights in which I conversed with Dane Rudhyar, famous humanistic astrologer.

These ‘meetings’ night after night would give me answers to astrological questions, with his Uranus on my ascendant, which indicates contact with an astrologer. At that time, I was also doing past life regression, which was a gift received from my XII house ruler.

Illness a path

As a certified reconnective healing practitioner, it was only logical for me to connect astrology with psychosomatics. There is nothing more sincere than the human body and its health. But at that time, already having astrological consultations lasting over three hours, I began to notice that if I continued like this I would get seriously ill.

Astrology can reveal a lot if we look at it together with psychosomatic symptoms, but there was little to say about it 15 years ago. At that time, I was working at school and could not get a permanent job or find institution that would accept me for full time position.

I didn’t know that I would create my own business by literally “channeling”Astrodetoks blog. These were years of “labour pains” and immediately before creation of Astrodetoks, I had two surgeries within a year.

Sometimes we don’t understand why certain life area is blocked, why we can’t achieve our goals or find right path when that path stems from ego, not the Soul. I didn’t understand at that time that my life was not a job at school, which I was trying hard to keep because it was the right thing to do. WAS IT THOUGH? I tried to be correct, but it is true that I was not honest.

Consultations

Like most astrologers, I prepared myself for consultations by reading about person’s natal positions for days. I would make notes on A4 paper and try to somehow remember it all for consultation. I would flip through all these notes and feel a lot of stress because every consultation was a test. Maybe if I don’t have an answer, I’m not worth to be an astrologer?! Maybe I’m a charlatan if I don’t tell you what will happen tomorrow and whether you will get that job.

However, I soon realized that there is something in symbols that is not written in books. This cannot be read or transcribed, but when I say THIS, person is deeply affected by this truth. Clients would start crying tears of joy because someone finally understands them. Someone sees them and knows that there is a light which, when we are present and somatically aware, magically shines, giving hope.

Every natal chart analysis taught me what the truth looks like and what it’s like to be honest. I could not say what is written somewhere else or what was expected, but only what is true. And the truth is unique for every person. Then everything changed…

Past vs. now

Today, when I think about it, I can’t believe that my health had to decline for me to notice this. While I was learning how to let this powerful energy from someone’s natal chart flow through me unhindered but not destroy me, I had no one to ask for guidance.

I had to help myself and communication with natal chart symbols, which I now teach through astro-mentoring, guided me in this. Gabrielle Roth’s ecstatic dance, Alexander Loven’s daily somatic exercises and Marion Woodman’s literature helped me, as well as some fascinating individuals I met during consultations.

At that time, due to consultations happening more and more often, it happened that I was losing a few kilograms a week. I had to reduce all other activities to a minimum in order to regenerate after consulation. It was all or nothing, but like any secret, it was three times more destructive.

Hello, my name is Maja and I am an astrologer…

It was very difficult for me to say publicly that I practice astrology. Sometimes it still is. I couldn’t say those words knowing that I would be put in an unfair category. But when you have five planets in Aquarius, you are fed up with not fitting in anywhere and not belonging anywhere, but at the same time you have understanding for all people around you.

Many of my colleagues from education condemned and ridiculed my interest in astrology. Almost always, friends of my friends, during celebrations or family gatherings, did not respect what I was doing.

It was not easy…

I felt like a clown, but aware that if I could help through astrological knowledge, I also had moral duty to do so. However, this was difficult as it meant stepping out of my comfort zone. Even today, I encounter insults from unknown people online and it hurts.

Yet, nasty words never come from people who know what astrology is, nor from my clients. They tell me every day how much talking with me meant to them. Fear of astrology and negativity towards it exists only when ignorance is present.

For this reason, my entire interest through my online work is focused around educating about astrology. Analysing someone’s natal chart is like baptism and I treat it with great respect. Today I know that physical body is our greatest compass for natal analysis. It must be healthy to receive frequencies of the Universe in its original form. I learned this the hard way.

Healed finally

Sometimes I get tired explaining that astrology is not horoscope. There is a lot of prejudice, especially about natal charts. For example, natal chart shows person’s truth, but is it not universal truth. Natal Moon shows how you experienced your mother, but it doesn’t show what your mother really is like.

Also, sometimes clients ask me questions that I don’t have answer to. I have no problem saying I don’t know, but I will always investigate if possible. No one on this planet has answers to some questions. Too much expectation is put upon astrologers to try to provide such answers.

There are also clients who are not ready to hear the truth and it shows in their body. This was shown by my poor health as well and my refusal to be who I am. UNUSUAL, DIFFERENT AND AUTHENTIC. How many of us are like that? I think there are many more of us than what is witnessed/talked about/published.

Examples

For example, someone has transiting Uranus in Taurus in the first house. This person could be unable to sit still for an hour, constantly feeling the urge to do something. But this person is clearly running away from this transit and its lessons. Their body is restless and resists it all. They are not present, but that means that they are somewhere else. They are not sincere at that given moment.

Someone who avoids eye contact does not have complete physical integrity in their life and cannot achieve goals. This person waits for a transit to pass, to save himself from himself. Only if we are not aware of our body in space, there are no words that we will be able to hear from astrologer to make things happen.

We will have to go through an awakening experience. However, all such cases of physical non-integration are known to me from some time ago. I ran away from myself and sought confirmation through astrology that “it’s not working out for me”. That I am a loser, banished from love. Ah, what a lie!

If you recognized yourself in these examples, congratulations! You are now making change in your life. Therefore, in order to be able to hear our natal symbols, body must be “tuned”.

I like honesty

When I finally appeared in my life, everything started and then I opened up for co-creating with astrology. Then I realized that Cosmos always supports me. I am not by myself! I forgive myself for living like that for so many years. After this karmic awareness, my health improved because I realized what my body is telling me all the time, which is my FLOW.

That’s why during consultations, I can always explain how I gain insights. It could almost be said that body spokes, because I must be fully present and simply follow alphabet of your and my natal chart. However, client should not forget that symbol’s energy is always moving. We cannot “capture symbols forever”, but only for a given moment. That moment can last longer or shorter, whole lifetime or just a few days…

Our energy level changes, there are periods that we see according to Sun transits in houses, when something is easier or more difficult for us to become conscious of. Therefore, astrology requires, in addition to high astrological knowledge, ability to find ways for client to understand what is being said. That’s why every consultation with me is different and unrepeatable, because no moment, client or natal chart is the same!

Before I see a client for the first time, symbols may look different compared to when consultation begins. It’s like when bright lights turn on the stage and actors appear – it’s similar in consultations. Some things are obvious when you show up.

Communication problems

Nowadays, most clients have an idea about their natal chart. Unfortunately, quantity does not match quality of this information. A lot of those who contact me are lost after “astroreports” generated by free programs or AI. I don’t know if astrology will survive. This is evident danger that I think about now much more than before.

Many transits do not bring visible results, but only possibility of different choice. Yet we have forgotten that we have choice. Media headlines clearly trigger fear around astrology, supported by countless and meaningless articles on the Internet. Such content is dangerous for those who do not understand natal chart principles and what astrology is for.

Also, many people ask me if Saturn in VIII or transiting Pluto in VI house is bad. It is true that content written more than thirty years ago probably claimed that it was very difficult. Times are different now and meaning of aspect and transit is no longer the same. Man’s role in the Cosmos has changed, too.

My way

One of key reasons why I write and speak so much about astrology is because I sincerely and with integrity want to present astrological language. Our cells are historical storehouses of experience on planet earth. Bad experiences don’t have to continue to circulate, but it’s up to us. Astrology can help us learn to not repeat old mistakes. It can help us not to hurt ourselves and others.

It is fascinating how language of astrology transmits natal data, as every word activates and awakens these records in body at DNA level. Each planet has energy with unique vibration and meaning of analysis is to help you bring this vibration to life for you. Astrology is alive and magical. I am blessed to be able to use my knowledge to serve it.

Just as astrology transcends the mind, this subject transcends the space provided for it. I wish to continue this story, as this is my sincere need.
